LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The Las Vegas Raiders entered training camp expecting one of their young offensive building blocks to take another major step forward in 2026.
Instead, the team is now facing uncertainty surrounding one of the most important pieces of its offensive line after a frightening injury during practice raised serious concerns about his availability and long-term future.
The incident occurred on Monday, August 17, 2026, during a red-zone training session at the Raiders practice facility.
According to team sources, the young offensive lineman suddenly went down during the intense portion of practice. Although he was able to get back on his feet shortly afterward, the situation immediately changed when he began walking with discomfort and was escorted off the field by members of the medical staff.

The player at the center of the situation is Jackson Powers-Johnson, the Raiders' second-round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Oregon.
Powers-Johnson entered the league with enormous expectations after dominating at the college level.
